Experiment - wooden measuring tape
It is a personal struggle to find a good looking measuring tape on the market. That is why I decided to analyze how a generic tape works to design a personal one. The tape itself is a complex product that requires an industrial level production to assure the measuring quality with minimum errors possible. However the case itself can be created to adapt the tape roll. In this attempt of case redesign I incorporated a wooden case with steel details and instead of screws, I included neodymium magnets, that are strong enough to hold the case together. It's rather obvious that the concept will require further improvements on the technical side, the project is experimental and will be updated in future.
